Payment Method Configurations

Overview

There are several options for enabling a Worker to activate a Branch Wallet or link a personal Debit Card. These rely on different levels of system capability and development resources, with drop-in solutions that handle everything using Branch's Widgets, automated Branch Wallet setup with some extra data exchange, and even a custom banking experience entirely embedded within your Organization's App.

Branch App and Branch Direct Web Portal

With basic data collection requirements and worker-initiated payment method widgets, this path gets your Organization's payments running in no time. By using the Branch API to pay Workers instead of traditional ACH, Workers receive wages in real-time using the payment method of their preference.

  • Organization provides link to Branch-hosted payment methods
  • Worker follows link and fills in the necessary PII manually to link a Debit Card or activate a Branch Wallet

One-Click Wallet and ACH Payroll to a Paycard

If your Organization uses ACH to credit Worker bank accounts and wants Branch for a Paycard solution, Workers can have a Branch Wallet created for them which can be claimed upon receipt of their Paycard. This path is very straightforward for Workers and easily integrates into many existing payroll systems, but it also requires that Workers receive payment at a Branch Wallet instead of a connected personal Debit Card.

  • Organization gives the Worker a Paycard, along with a QR code linking the Branch App
  • Worker follows the QR code link, signs up, and activates the Branch Wallet associated with the card
  • Worker payment details can be retrieved for making ACH credits upon payment profile activation

One-Click Wallet and Branch App and Web Debit Card Widgets

If the Organization provides worker financial PII commonly used for existing payroll systems, the worker can bypass data entry when selecting a Branch Wallet and eliminate any friction for setup. The worker will be linked to a Branch-Hosted widget if Debit Card is the selected payment method.

  • Worker provides necessary financial PII to the Organization for creating a bank account
  • Worker selects between Wallet or Debit Card within Organization App
  • Organization allows Worker to view or switch their payment method

If the Organization wants to provide a complete and native banking experience using white-label branding within in the Organization App, the Debit Card widget can be embedded directly.
